    Bio:

    Wei Pan received his BE degree  in the year of 2007 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, which is China's most prestigious engineering university, with honor thesis. Before college, He held the honor of Shanghai Distinguished High-school Graduates and the 1st prize in city-wise algorithm contest. Besides his academic life,  he  was a lead programmer for a start-up mobile video game company Bora-Game. Later he joined  Google China for a year, where he was on the developing board of  the project "Life Search" from scratch to Google lab launch.  He is the receiver of three years' Tsinghua academic scholarship, "TiaoZhanBei" scientific scholarship and "Nokia" national leader honor/fellowship.  He is currently receiving Dartmouth Fellowship for his graduate study.

    His research interests are vision/machine intellignece, system and recently computer music. He enjoys the freedom and deep thinking in his research world.

    I have been playing classical and electronic guitar for a very long time, my music style including pop, blues, rock and classic. I play piano for pop only due to skill constraints.  I found guitar to be such an amazing CATEGORY of musical instruments that I can not live one day without touch them.
