The Lute Society of America will again sponsor Summer Seminars in 2009 in the East in conjunction with Amherst Early Music and in the West in conjunction with Early Music Vancouver.

• LSA at Amherst Early Music Festival, 19 – 26 July 2009, Connecticut College, New London CT.
• LSA at Early Music Vancouver, 26 – 31 July 2009, University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC.  Faculty will include Robert Barto, Pat O’Brien and Grant Tomlinson.

      Our 2008 Seminar & Lute Festival is past.  It again took place at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  It was an intense but intensely enjoyable week of lute activities including a concert series, courses and lectures with myriad opportunities to share our enthusiasm for the lute with other like-minded people, from beginners to the most famous professional players.  Many photos and MP3 files have been posted, but the detailed retrospective of the event is still under construction.

•  The Sixth Early Music Workshop & Concert Series of the Association Guitare et Luth took place in Gruyères, Switzerland, 24 – 31 August 2008.  The theme this year was La guitare de Schubert.
•  German Lute Society International Lute Festivals, held annually for the last 11 years.  The 2008 event took place 4 – 6 April.
•  Les Journées du Luth 2008 of the Société de Luth Français – 25, 26 & 27 January 2008, Toulouse.  Masterclasses, concerts and exposition.  Recto (121 KB) & verso (352 KB) of the flyer.
