Bogart Date: 1986 Abstract: This paper presents the results of a survey of mathematics and computer science departments on their needs and intentions for survey courses in discrete mathematics. The paper then presents an idealized syllabus for such a course, recognizing that many topics in the syllabus should be regarded as optional.
