Early November

The kitchen cabinets are partially installed.

The kitchen cabinets are fully installed.

Mid November

And the kitchen counter too.

Here you can see how the baseboard is built up over the heating pipes.

The outside is basically done.

Late November: electrical, network, and plumbing

The radiant-heat pipes are run through the floor joists of the first floor. Here, we are looking up at the basement ceiling. (The second floor cannot have radiant heat because the exposed joists leaves no inter-floor space in which to hide the pipes.

The patch panel for the computer/telephone network. I did this work myself. There are 29 cable runs to all points in the house, each using Cat5 4-pair cable so that it can support telephone, ISDN, LocalTalk, 10Mbps Ethernet, or 100Mbps Ethernet. (Or more). The patch panel allows any outlet to serve any purpose.

The electrician and the plumber are remarkably organized.

Late November: tiling

Tile around the whirlpool.

Painting...

Ahead to Phase 6: move in!
