We start to have great views of the peaks around the Spruce Creek valley.

A beaver pond. Later, we saw a beaver making the rounds of his dam.

The snow was just melting, and the first wildflowers were out.

Rick found that the local Gray Jays were more than willing to land if they could have a bit of Clif bar.

Rick LaRowe discovers there is still a lot of snow on the trail. The weather was warm, though, in the 70s and a nice breeze.

Halfway up the final steep push to Mohawk lake was an old miner's cabin.
