Download Azure (8.3MB)
To run Azure you will need to install the XNA 3.0 Framework (7.6MB).
You'll also need the .NET 2.0 Framework or higher version, if you don't already have it installed.
Azure is very different from my previous games. I had two goals in creating it:
1) to create a game that elicits an emotion other than fiero (the feeling of triumph over adversity), and
2) to create a game with meaningful gameplay.
In this sense, Azure is my most intentionally "artistic" game so far. I wanted to make a goal other than "kill all the bad guys" and instead create a new gaming expierience. Play the game and let me know if it works for you.
In Azure, the player must absorb the "motes" that fill the screen by moving over them. The game world changes based on your success in this endeavour, ranging from a diseased-looking brownish-red background to a beautiful azure sky when the player keeps the screen totally clear.

The player can only clear the screen by slowing down, finding a rhythm of play, and denying any temptation to rush towards the goal. Trying to accelerate the game's pace will only result in further chaos.

I'd love to hear your comments on Azure. Comment on my blog or email me at .
