Jobs:
QA Tester Intern, Bethesda Softworks, January 2009-March 2009. This involved finding and reporting bugs in Fallout 3 DLC and getting a very cool first glimpse of the industry. It was a ridiculously fun job. I know that not every QA intern gets to work on the game of the year, and I remain grateful.
Programming Intern, eXMeritus Software Federal Systems, Inc., Summer 2007. eXMeritus works on sensitive security software. I was responsible for prototyping functionality in SELinux in C (with a small team), and prototyping Windows applications in C#, as well as a few other IT-related odd jobs.
Archery Counselor, Camp Winnebago, Summer 2008. I attended Winnebago for 8 weeks every summer from when I was 9 to when I was 15, so I was quite happy to return. I taught Archery to boys of various ages and personally oversaw five 11-year-olds. I also led overnight camping trips, entertained the camp during assemblies, and did all sorts of other fun miscellany.
College:
Dartmouth College, Fall 2007 - Present. I am currently majoring in "Computer Science Modified with Digital Arts" (a combination that is mostly CS with a dash of DA thrown in) and I plan to add Game Design (which I will have to design as an independent, Special Major).
Outside of classes, I participate in the Parliamentary Debate team.
High School:
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fall 2003 - Spring 2007. I applied for and was accepted into this competitive public magnet school, and was therefore introduced to computer science (and game programming) early. During school I participated in Lincoln-Douglas debate as a team captain and the Building a Better Community club as President.
During my junior year at TJHSST I founded and launched a club for amateur game development.
Other:
I have programmed a variety of games for fun and experience. I've completed projects of significant size in Java, C, and C#.
I won 2nd place at the 2009 Imagine Cup Game Development competition with my game Alternex.
During the summer of 2006 I attended the second annual Carnegie Mellon University's National High School Game Academy at the Entertainment Technology Center (or CMUNHSGAETC, as I like to call it). It was essentially game development camp. We learned about programming, art, and design from experienced game developers and built a full Warcraft 3 module.
I do a bunch of other stuff.
