Lute Festival 2006 Activities
Departure

The end of the week inevitably arrived too soon,
and we all had to return to our homes.

The sad business gets underway.

The van carrying Edward Martin and Dan Larson back to Duluth was
particularly fully loaded with all the instruments Dan brought along to
display, some requested repairs and some for delivery along the way.

How to stuff one Baroque lute, one Renaissance lute and
three theorboes into an Oldsmobile 4-door sedan.

As seen from the other side, it doesn’t look any easier!

Dowager Empress Caroline prepares her carriage for the road.

Crawford Young, waiting and waiting for his taxi, reserved
the evening before, listening on his cell phone to hold music
piped through Switzerland...  He finally gave up and accepted
a ride from David Nelson, who was driving past the airport
on his way back to the Columbus area. Thanks, David!
