Whether it’s the premiere of a new work or the revival of a forgotten Baroque gem, soprano Carrie Henneman Shaw has made her mark as a singer who brings a sense of adventure and style to the concert stage. This season, she collaborated with ensembles across the country, such as dal Niente and Sonic Inertia (both of Chicago), Oregon East Symphony, Orchestra Seattle, Consortium Carissimi USA, Sapphire Chamber Consort, the Zuchowiczi Consort of Viols (Houston), Bach Society of Minnesota, and the Deviated Septet. Most recently, Carrie performed the roles of Cupid and the Shepherdess in Purcell’s Masque in Dioclesian with Orchestra Seattle and kicked off the St. Paul Summer Song Festival with a recital celebrating the history of art song at The Schubert Club. In 2008–2009, Carrie will be featured as a guest artist with the Newberry Consort, perform Bach’s Coffee Cantata with the Bach Society of Minnesota, and much more. Carrie hones her craft as a private student of early-music diva Ellen Hargis.
