Honor Principle

The Dartmouth Honor Principle, as applied to the graduate course CS118 is as follows:

  • Never leave your private work exposed. Use chmod -r as needed.
  • Never claim the work of others as your own.
  • Homework is neither collected nor graded. Students are encouraged to collaborate on homework and encouraged to ask the instructor for clarification or feedback as needed.
  • Projects have a due date and are graded. If students collaborate on a project, all students making a significant contribution sign the result. All signators receive the same grade. Casual help by other students and staff is encouraged but otherwise irrelevant.
  • The final exam is take home and is graded. It is open book and closed mouth. Collaboration is forbidden.
