Information for Internship Supervisors
Internships are valuable vehicles to help develop and cultivate talent
that can help an organization over the long term. Identifying and
developing quality talent, especially in the information security
space, is a difficult and time-consuming task. The Institute for Security,
Technology, and Society has sponsored and organized the SISMAT
project to train talented undergraduates in the basics of information
security tools, methods, and technology. One vital aspect of this
course is linking these talented students with organizations in need
of fostering that talent.
Industry, government, and non-profit institutions have expressed
difficulty finding personnel with appropriate training in cyber
security tools. This training requires hands-on experience with the
actual methods and tools of secure systems, but only a very few
Colleges and Universities are equipped to offer such training. SISMAT
provides an educational program that helps address this critical and
growing need.
If you are interested in hiring a participant in our course and can
commit to having funding for such an internship position this upcoming
summer, then we would like to hear from you. Please contact
sismat at cs.dartmouth.edu.
