Mountaineering
 |
Checking out if the car is
still in the parking lot from many
pitches up on Canon Cliff in New Hampshire. |
I started mountaineering through a rock climbing course thought
by volunteers of the Boston
Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). Since then, I have been
active in rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering thought the AMC and
the MIT Outing Club (MITOC). I tought yearly courses for MITOC and lead trips
throughout the Northeast and the western states. Now I am at Dartmouth where
even more students climb, hike and otherwise recreate outdoors.

M.I.T. Outing Club
When I was in Boston most of my recreational activities were done in
conjunction with the MIT Outing Club (MITOC)
where I was the Mountaineering Chairman for six years. I lead trips and classes
in rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, sea kayaking and cross country
skiing. MITOC's largest educational and outdoor activity is
Winter School. Winter School is conducted every January during the winter
semester. Classes are held biweekly, with trips schedule every weekend
during January.
I have included directions to
the Longwood Bouldering Wall and the
Mill City Rock Gym
in Dracut.
