I work on developing machine learning techniques for systems that
can reason about human activities, interactions, and social networks
in everyday environments. I joined the
computer science department
of Dartmouth in 2008. Prior to that I was a member of the research
staff at Intel Research Seattle.
I received my Ph.D. degree from the Media Laboratory at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). My
PhD thesis was the
first to show the feasibility of automatically capturing and
modeling social networks based on face-to-face conversations using
custom wearable sensors. I also hold a B.S. in electrical
engineering from the University of Rochester, and M.S. from the
MIT
Media Laboratory.
