Mt. Moosilauke 07/07/2001

We loved Mt. Moosilauke so much, that we just had to go back!
CZ brought a buddy from LA, Brek, along, and we did a recon of an easier way up this awesome mountain, so that next time we can haul the whole hillstomper group along.
It was cloudy when we started, but soon the sun cleared up the clouds and the rest of the day was sunny and warm (but not too hot!).
This is highly recommended Mountain to hike! Easiest rt. would be up and down the carriage road. We went up the Ridge Trail - Carriage Road - Snapper - back to the Lodge. Which is longer than up/down the Carriage Rd. But still a lot easier than the last one up where we too the Beaver Brook trail up and down the Glencliff trail. Map here.

[Back to Hillstompers]   [no thread for this one]

Brek, and Brettski

At the top basking in the warm of the sun and the mountain's peacefullness.

The Franconia Ridge (Lafayette and Lincoln on the left). Isn't this the coolest peak, grassy and expansive!

Gotta get that required summit pic!

Gotta get that flower pic! These were all over the place along side the trails and even on the peak. The coolest thing is that every week there is a different flower in bloom, probably different per mountain as well.

The North Peak from the South Peak. The S. Peak was actually even better than the N. Peak - better views, less people, and out of the wind.

Thank you.

Check out the view to the east, no more big mountains, but very pretty.

Still on the South Peak.

The Carriage Road - See, its a cake walk! Nice an' easy on the knees.

Some mo' flowers.

And mo'. These were down at lower elevations.

It was a pretty darned cool lodge too, sorry no pic, completely forgot. Check it all out here.

It looks like its rentable too, we could do some events there!

Check out all the cars!

And more! A lot of these people were hiking on trails around the bottom of the mountain, or eating at the lodge. It smelled delicious!

See you next time, and remember folks:
It's really just "One mo' mile!"
