Dear All,

    I posted the notes from today's class in the course directory. They
are divided into 3 files:

    page-coloring.txt
    heaps-and-allocators.txt
    percpu-allocations.txt

    Throughout these files, I remind you to read bonwick01.pdf, so read it :)
(it is also posted in the course directory).

    Our midterm will take place the _next_ weekend after the Carnival 
weekend. You will be expected to use various tricks with DTrace and MDB to 
discover and trace code paths through the kernel, and modify kernel state. 
Start practicing with these tools now, because the midterm problems will 
assume fluency (and it's hard to pick up during one weekend). Examples of 
past midterms are available in the respective subdirectories.
